Now If you are having any running microsoft operating system or let us say you are having windows 7 as your current operating system and you want to install windows 8 without removing windows 7 (dual boot) , to achieve the functionality of dual boot we have to follow few steps as explain below :

• To create windows 7 and windows 8 dual boot we first have to go to control pannel  > System and security > Administration tool > Create and format hard disk partitions.
• This will open the window explorer with disk management options as shown below:

• Then Select any drive which is having space free more then 25 gb and right click on that drive and click on shrink voloume as shown in figure below :

• After this you will be asked to fill the values in MB to shrink the volume you have to fill any value from 25 GB to $40 GB (not fixed you can increase it according to your requirement) according to your choice and requirement where 1GB = 1024 MB and then click on shrink . as shown below:

• This above step will generate one unallocated drive partion on your Hard Disk of your required size as shown in figure below:

• After this step you just have to insert windows 8 Dvd or You can create bootable pendrive as expalin in our previous post before and then when windows setup will begin it will ask for the selection of drive then select this unallocated drive which will create windows 7 and windows 8 dual boot .

You can see by following very simple few steps we are able to make windows 7 and windows 8 Dual boot means we can keep both windows 7 and windows 8 on the same machine and run any one of them at a time .
